quad stress

every time i back squat i never really feel muscle soreness in the quads but i always get it in the glutes and hams to the point that its a struggle to sit down or walk down the stairs is there something i can do to focus more stress on the quads..at the mo i squat 200kg x 6-8 reps to parallel or just above for 4 sets i also do leg press-and extensions etc

Re: quad stress

Maybe try some extra sets of extentions as this is the only exercise that hits the quads on thier own. I tend to warm up with extentions then onto squats then back for heavy extentions.

Re: quad stress

give it a go, but you'll probably have to drop your squat weight after heavy extentions.

If your doing 200kg squats can you get enough weight on the extention machine to tire your legs?

Re: quad stress

Try front squats my friend!! I find they stress the quads more directly

Re: quad stress

Front and rear lunges will hit the quads much better, take your squats no further than parallel if you dont want to hit the glutes/hams.
