There is the issue of fluid collection though! Good old oedema!

God I have broken, erm, 3 bones now, two of them were together.

I did take in more calcium, mostly in the form of sesame seeds and tahini, tofu and brocolli.

I would whack up all your minerals, as I am pretty sure that copper, magnesium and zinc are all cofactors in some of the reactions that make bones, tendons and cartiledge.

dont know if i should work my left leg or not? not wanting to have a massive leg on one side then a we chicken leg on the other! ill get advice of the club condition coach and physio they'll keep me right, on what to do to stop the muscle loss, theres bound to be some sort of excercises.
yeah,i can still do alot of core work and upper body stuff, was in last night and done ok!

been looking up on bone healing, just need to make sure my bodys full off boron, calcium, magnesium, zinc and potassium seems thats what the body needs or so they say.

this is my 4th break but first on the leg and its ITCHY AS!! ive been sticking everything down it just to get a good scratch ....its torture having a itch and you just cant get to it, but when you get it ooooh what a feeling as good as sex! lol well maybe not just!

cheers for the info T

hey flyer, ask your doc about electro magnetic stimulation. It think that is it. You can work the muscle just sitting in a chair.
See if he will let you use that, I bet some of the atrophy wont be quite as bad with that.

Hi Flyer,

Luckily broken bones are my speciality as I treat about 30 peeps a day just like you! However Scott and Tatanya have said it all already

Not to worry, you aren't weight bearing as you have broken the only load bearing bone in your leg, so just avoid trying to carry dumbells lol Stick with the cables and look up static contraction training. EMS would prevent atrophy but it isn't a builder and can be painful.

Scott got me onto a good book you can get from Amazon called static contraction training.

DOnt stick things down your cast to scratch your leg!!!! I have admitted three people who got raging infections this way and needed IV antibiotics, one of whom let me take a pic of his leg on my phone (see pic)

Stick with high calcium intake 1000mg per day, only put weight through it when its healed!!

Get yourself a waterproof cast cover from LIMBO for showering etc. Cleanliness is next to SPortDrness

Take care and if you need any advice just ask
