Re: Arthiritus - Joint Care

I have arthritis in my right hand. (sharp needle like pains sometimes) I have been recommended to take Glucosomine tablets by many people. I got mine from :-
Healthspan.co.uk

Also I've got stuff from Myprotein with no problems.

Yer, hes been diagnosed with it for ages and takes certain steroids for it etc.

But he has recently been taking cod liver oils, or i hope he has.

Was just wondering if there is anything more effective that he could take.

Hes a brick layer/landscape gardner so really needs his hands.

I should have stated that i was looking if anything is more powerful then the cod liver oils.

Re: Arthiritus - Joint Care

1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in a small amount of warm water 3-4 times per day before meals.

Some find this helps and very inexpensive.

Also look at his hydration levels..

Re: Arthiritus - Joint Care

Fish Oli tabs, ( you can take more of these than you can Cod liver oil, Id suggest a minimum of 6 per day) Tumaric,MSM, I have also seen Emu oil advertised as being very good but Im not sure about that one...... If I had it bad Id also look into alternative things like copper wrist bands and Raikey.....

Good Luck. My g/f nan has 3 types of arthritus, and my g/f is pretty worried about it hitting her later in life.

Re: Arthiritus - Joint Care

Fits,

Was talking to my herbalist recently and he said there was no difference between MSM, chondriot or glucosamine other than the price. He said it was science that had been bent to suit their sales. Best option was glucosamine.

Re: Arthiritus - Joint Care

Ive sufferred from arthritis since the age of 21. had a couple of ops on my hip. over the years ive taken cod liver oil which really helps. I feel it when i don't take them so i guess it does work. Recently ive started taking glucosamine and it seems to work pretty well also.
There isnt a cure for Arthritis, the best prevention IMO is a good diet and regular excersise, that's the only thing thats kept me out of hospital for the past 13 years.

One of the side of taking extra calcium, is the probability of kidney stones. I;ve had these damn things 3 times. The surgeon told me that they were mainly due to me drinking 2 litres of milk a day plus calcium tablets when i was weight lifting! The last stone was surgically removed (Won't tell you how they did it as you may be having a meal at the moment! But a long nose pair of pliers seems to be involved )
