I got stabbed through my left shoulder. It was a deep wound and now has healed but it has left a big scar. Sometimes when I am training I can feel my tendons grating against the scar tissue internally, it almost feels like the scar tissue is pushing them out of place.

Con, do you think that deep tissue work could help this?

Yeah dude, I managed to tear my right quad paying football, got a massive amount of scare tissue where i tore it, and still feel it today when i squat etc. Tore in now, 3 years ago.

Good deep massage and Ultrasound can limit the amout of tissue damage, but it will always be a weak point.

Re: scar tissue

like the others said get deep tissue massage done, I had tons on my outer quads from when i was a teen ect TKD streaching is hardly scientific (having someone juming up and down whilst your trying to do the splits lol).

but yea the sports massure (spelling) will sort you out - it took about 4 sessions for me to get it sorted. Its well worth it.

mate i have this now and my last glute shot was 9 months ago, it feels like its the exact area in my right glute i would use while on a cycle. I can hardly walk today and i am getting a shooting pain down my leg. i am going to a specialist in an hour so i will let you know how i get on. After reading through medical sites it sounds most like a trapped nerve but i cant help think and feel the injections had something to do with it.

will update when im back

Re: scar tissue

right just got back and i dont have a trapped nerve, its a sprained ligament in the top of my asre. i dont know if this has anything to do with potential scar tissue through injecting as i didnt mention it. it is a 2 week rest from weights and plenty stretching and swimming to ease off.

yes pal scar tissue is a right bitch! i have regular sessions at the physio.both quads, both sides of my lats.and not to mention both butt cheeks.all down to wear n tear.physio reckons i need 6 to 12 mnth off training and full deep tissue massage.18yrs of training, ignoring the niggles, throw in an extra bit of deca trying mask the injuries was not good practice.still get pains today.but dont try training balls to the wall anymore.

Re: scar tissue

scar tissue can be painful and sometimes limiting to movement to the damaged area!!!
scar tissue is a result of damage to normal healthy tissue cells,tendons/ligaments and most cells that can heal up....leaving scarring....this tissue can be massaged and as previously said if the damage is minor, ultrasound can be used to break down some of the scar tissue and promote collagen synthesis and stretching...but this is of minimal proportions...if the damage is on a large scale or big area of the tissue i'm afraid scar tissue is a result of repeated stress and damage to the area and will be there for as long as a new scientific breakthrough happens where new healthy cells can rebuild or replicate without scarring!!!!
hope its not anything permanently de-abilitating to you...pain up your left side spine and to your buttock...could be nerve damage?
you should seek medical attention, get professional advice/help!!!
