Unhappy OH MY GOLLY GOSH!!!...

OH MY GOLLY GOSH!!!...Been having these pains on the left side of my back near my shoulder blade and the middle of my back, they been going on for a week and a half now. It also hurts when I take deep breaths. I should have gone docs when It had started but im stupid like that lol. Yesterday at the gym during my warm up set for dead lifts it just got very very sharp!!!

Has anyone had any similar pains in that area???...and what could it be???

A muscle strain.

Rest and apply ice/heat.

Re: OH MY GOLLY GOSH!!!...

Or pleurisy.
I think that is when you have inflammation in the tissues surrounding the lungs.
If it is,then pleurisy root can help.
Not sure tho, I am not a doc.

Pleurisy or pleuritis is the inflammation of the pleura, which is the lining surrounding the lungs.

Pneumonia, is inflammation and fluid in the lungs.

Very close but not the same.
Pain is more assoicated with pleurisy than pneumonia.

Re: OH MY GOLLY GOSH!!!...

I'll go with a draught on your back.....if you sleep with your window open,SHUT IT!!
I got one a few weeks back deadlifting in the garage with the door open....took off my tracksuit top cos i was hot and a gust of wind blew in and got me.

Should go within a few weeks....train as normal although it hurts.

To test if i am correct, pull your head towards your chest,it hurts right?
Also breathe deep, feels like a punch under the ribs but in the back.

If i am wrong,go the docs.

Yeh it does hurt when i move my head towards my chest. It has slightly got better but soon as i lift any amount of weight it starts hurting again.

Re: OH MY GOLLY GOSH!!!...

600mg Ibuprofen from the docs(needs a prescription) twice a day should take the edge off the pain.
In the meantime, wear a T-shirt to bed and keep the windows shut.....even in the car/at work/etc.

I was going to try sauna last time i got it but just stuck it out, usually goes after two weeks. If it doesn't and it hasn't subsided, consider seeing a physio.
Yes,it does hurt when lifting cos practically any lift causes one to squeeze the traps when straining.

Stay warm.
