![]() | Need to hyperventilate/tachypnea? I was doing some squats yesturday and after a set I felt a real strong need for oxygen and to breathe really fast. I was already breathing steady with oxygen intake but my body was pushing for more oxygen and got a bit worrying when I started feeling a bit funny. I knew if I breathed really heeavy and fast I would hyperventilate. Has any had this before and is it normal? |

Yep, lifing weights is anarobic due to the body requiring more oxygen that you can supply. Squats are especially so as they require so much energy to move a weight that has to incourperate ballance and breathing. You could probably take a couple of breaths at the top of the squat. I hope you are not holding your breath. |

![]() | Re: Need to hyperventilate/tachypnea? I dont think so, I mostly breathe out near the end of the lift. It happened the next set and thought I might pass out If I did anymore so I stopped and only got 4 sets of squats, well thought it was good to be on the safe side. |
