Cold water???

does it help to sit in cold water for 10 mins after brutal leg day???

i know a lot of rugby players get inside a wheelie bin of cold water after a game to stop pain

Re: Cold water???

a few years ago i used to run several marathons per year and many half marathons as training. at the time i heard that it helped speed up recovery and dispertion of lactic acid but i never tried it prefering a hot one instead. whether its true or not i havnt a clue! probably just a rumour started by someone with a sence of humour

My missus works as a manager at the local pool, so i get free jacuzzi's after workouts, which seems to do the trick.

Re: Cold water???

an ice bath does help. Sports players and athletes often get them after competing.
Helps lactic acid be removed or something im not sure on the science of it.

Re: Cold water???

The ice cold water flushes all the blood out of the muscles tacking with it all the exersize by products which make you sore. An easyer method is hot - cold. Get an ice pack and a hot water bottle and apply one after the other 30 secs at a time. Wait 24 hours after the workout to do this if your sore. The hot water pulls the blood in and the ice flushes it back out. Or just live with the DOMS

Re: Cold water???

Stretching in between sets and a 15 min walk afterwards help me. Other than that, just stop being a pu$$y!

Re: Cold water???

thought they used ice baths so the muscles 'shut down' quicker after exercise, allowing the recovery phase to take place quicker?
