Do you stretch?

Was just wondering if people stetch to avoid injuries or do you just jump straight into it and start throwing weights around?

I have to admit i know i should but i dont warm up properly i do a couple of warm up sets at bout 50% - 70% of my working weight but i dont really do any stretches and im staring to feel more aches and pains in the colder days. Also i always seem to hurt my traps when doing shrugs cos i just go straight into them.

Prob is i always think im gonna look stupid if im stretching...but always feel stupider when i get injured.:crazy:

I think you answered your own question

But yeah i warm up with cardio first, then do a warm up set per exercise (unless the excercise is v similar to the last one). I have started to slack on my actual stretching though - which i must address

i warm up progressively up to my working set then a DC type extreme stretch afterwards for each bodypart...

i have posted pictures of the stretches here before if you want to search for them to have a peek...

I never used to stretch but after hurting myself a few years ago It kinda changed my out look on it. Now I stretch my shoulders and chest before doing press's.

Never stretch a cold muscle.

I used to stretch 3 times a week at the beach in warm sand.

Stretching is important for range of motion, we all will lose range as we get older, stretching minimises this.

I warm up as normal & stretch between each working set (depending what muscle I am training).

then do my workign sets and after the last set spend a good minute stretching the fuk out of it..
