Re: How many injuries do you currently have?

Just a troublesome knee, although since i've been training heavier and less frequently it give me far less bother (as long as I don't do lunges). Generally though I'll avoid an injured area as much as possible, I'd rather rest it for longer and miss a few sessions than risk it becoming a chronic long term problem.

My advice to you would be to take a week off. Things take ages to get up to strength when you start training, including tendons, joints CNS. A week off will get you more gains in the long run than soldiering through the injuries so early on.

Personally I have two main injuries, shoulder - bicep tnedon insertion. Elbow calcification (although this was not cause from weightlifting). My knees cause trouble occasionally, and i get carpel tunnel in my right wrist.

Re: How many injuries do you currently have?

I took 2 weeks off for the wrist in total, one week around xmas and one week back in late oct..
Helped a tiny bit, i know really i should rest it but i dont mind working through the pain aslong as i know its not doing long term damage, thats why i wanna
get a scan on it

Can docs give me a quick scan if i say im in unbearable pain?

Re: How many injuries do you currently have?

I think the Doc can do pretty much what he wants to if he thinks it necessary. It's probably carpel tunnel (like me). Does it hurt when you let go of a bar/weight? rather than during motion.

You may be better off seeing a physio than a doctor, 9/10 the doc will jsut tell you not to lift wieghts and that is that. A physio will give you excercises to strengthen and advice on how to train to avoid the injury. I have had so mucha useful advice from my physio he is worth every single penny.

Re: How many injuries do you currently have?

I have a few :(

Rotator cuff injury in my left shoulder - had the joint reset by a Chiroprator and seems to be getting much better

A hip/back injury. My hip jars into my pelvis forcing pain up into my lower back. As a result no deads!

And finally a reconstructed right knee after a football injury - which actually causes an imbalance which in turn causes my hip to compensate resulting in the back pain...

Re: How many injuries do you currently have?

Oh, I forgot some, fractured vertabre in my back from a car crash, where they had to take out my spleen.

I tore a bicep too, but it hardly effects my curling. I was never a strong curler, but it gets knotted up when I do bicep and looks funny.
Both arms are about the same strength with the exception of maybe a rep or two.
