Thought i'd get you to double figures
Boxing 13-17, 42-43 York Amateur Boxing Club
Tkd 31-38 1st Dan Alan sparks instructor TAGB
Kick Boxing 39-42 Green Belt Paul Lynch WAKO

Wasn't really ever interested in the gradings, always felt they were only there to rip you off for money, especially tkd one for black, about £120 way back as well, loved comps, went to loads all over country, good crack and won some to, had to pack in as got injury after injury after injury(ankles and knees) plus back is knackered, loved it and may try and return given the right club. Any other fighting competitors in the group?

    Welcome to the group DaveI.

I've been thinking about my MA training a lot lately. Due to teaching a MA class I feel as though I haven't been putting in enough time to my own development, I'm thinking about going along to some sort of contact art i.e MMA, Kickboxing or boxing. Or what I might do is invite instructors along to my club to teach us all, that way both myself and my students will benefit.

Welcome to the group guys. We are now the biggest social group on UKM

GreekGoddess I'm sure martial arts was very different 20 years ago, much tougher then from the stories I have read and heard. I was only just starting out then and was too young to be exposed to the broken bones style of training, although its the method that I try to capture when I teach. The numbers are low but the training is good and hard!

MrGum practicing your jabs is pretty easy and it won't take you long before it just becomes a automatic action. Where are you training?

I'm getting really into kickboxing after 10 years away from martial arts. I have kept my flexibility fairly well (done quite a lot of yoga over the years). I'm doing dynamic stretches every morning in an attempt to get it even better.
Just ordered some foot pads and a groin guard so I can do sparring. My main problems at the moment is that I can't get used to the jab - keep doing "reverse punches" or crosses instead. Have to practise!

Hi guys, wondered if I could join your group.

Did English contact kararate (Green belt ) 20 years ago, changed to Muay Thai for three years. Recently joined kickboxing class here in Greece. Not going back till November as I have a bb contest in October and can't risk getting injured. When I go back I will train2/3 nights a week kickboxing as well as four day split bb. Spar with the Greek champion.

    Cheers

Going to thailand to try out a kickboxing school in Feb next year.

was doing tenshinshinaryu jujitsu,,not been for nearly a year as my brother in law caused some muscle and tendon damage in my elbow,he also dislocated my ankle 6 months before that..nice guy really just happens to be the instructor and I was always the one called out when demonstrating..Trouble is i`m a wriggly sod and always try to spin out, hence the dislocations all the time..hope to start back in next 2wks,,got to get some things sorted out first then away we go again...

I haven't done much in the way of Martial arts but I've been interested for a while, doing my first session of kickboxing on Thursday - maybe I could update how my training goes in this group
