Question Routine Change.

Me and my training partner have been doing the same routine for a while now and we are looking to sort out a new one starting in a couple of weeks time,
We have been following the plan i have posted before in (FAT MAN NEEDING HELP)
With a few changes that were suggested by members on the site,
We have only been training for a month or two so as you have all said compound moves are the key to our gains at the moment and im just wondering if any one that can help will.:o

We are still looking at training the same days, just we are lost on what exercises, to do, how many and what rep and set ranges also we have are 1 rep maxs for a lot of exercises should we use so many % of 1 rep max for so many reps or should we stick to pyramid.

TUESDAY. Chest and Triceps.

THRSDAY. Legs and Back.

SUNDAY. Shoulders and Traps.

This is what body parts we do. are they ok in this order.
We are after the order and the exercises to do for these days if poss.
Any help in a routine would be great,
We both have slightly different aims, i want to gain as much strength and mass whilst loosing weight, and Ginsters is after doing the same but keeping as fast and agile as he can for his Karate.

We want to add Dead lifts, T bar rows, Dumbell presses also we like seated rows, once again any help would be great.

I found that if I trained triceps with chest I would over-train them, and they would not grow. I would do triceps and chest on different days (since, you use your tri's when you are pressing), maybe pair triceps with back, and biceps with chest. Also, training back and legs on the same day must be pretty tiring (since they are both large muscle groups) maybe put back and traps together, and legs and shoulders on the other day.
Having said that, if you're still gaining there is no need to change it.

Cheers lads,

No Big,
we have not stalled on our current work plan mate, its just that what we are following was just something i just jotted down as we were not really following anything at the time, We have only just started really getting into all this training lark and after seeing some good weight loss on Ginsters part and some 1 rep max gains upped by the both of us we are worried that we maybe overtraing certain bodyparts, as you your self said in a post before, "Your routine is horrible, sorry"

We have the trouble that so many people try and tell us there little tips,( witch is all great and they way we all learn) it all gets mixed up and nothing makes sense.

So we thought right, back to basics, like you all say stick with compound stuff, so we are after a good work plan for two begginers who are after muscle gains and weight loss, like i said, Whats the best order to do what exercises on what days, (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) with how many reps and sets, also should we be using a % of our 1 rep max for so many reps.
We read and get told build the main frame first with compound stuff for 6 monthes or so, is this right,
Should we do any isolation stuff.

PLEASE HELP. WE DONT WANT TO TRY AND RUN BEFORE WE CAN EVEN WALK.

With a good plan, it gives everyone more confidence, wich in turn makes you work better, thats in life not just in the gym so anything to help in confidence from the more experianced would be great.

PS, Diet and cardio info in post, Fat man needing help.;)

IMO you are thinking way way way too much.

Click on the link in my sig, and it will give the kind of routine I suggest. Lifting is extremely simple, and worrying about % of 1rm is unnecessary at this level.
