Cool A few quick questions...

hey ppl, hows everyone doing?just a few quick questions i wanted to ask.

1.my weight seems to go up and down by about a kilo in the space of 2 days.does this happen to anyone else?i eat pretty much the same amount everyday, but this has happened a few times.i have only been going to the gym for just under 3 months,if that makes a difference.

2.i read in a magazine a recommended workout guide where u work ur biceps and triceps twice a week.i have been told by pretty much everyone that u should work each muscle only once a week.is the magazine wrong or what?

3.what are supersets?

4.when people say about going to failure,is it best to go to failure in every set or just the last set u do?

5.when benchpressing, should i use a wide grip or narrow grip or an even number of each sets?

6.is it ok to eat protein just before u go to bed or does it get wasted if u do?

7.should i do deadlifts on my hamstring day or the day i do my back?

thanks in advance guys:confused:

Yes, dont worry about it. It fluctuates depending on time of day, what youve eaten & how well hydrated you are. Thats why its good pracrice to always weigh yourself at the exactly the same time of day.

2.i read in a magazine a recommended workout guide where u work ur biceps and triceps twice a week.i have been told by pretty much everyone that u should work each muscle only once a week.is the magazine wrong or what?

There really is no right or wrong way to train - variety is the key. So say for 6 weeks sure, train them once a week, then change your workout completely and train them twice a week. The body adapts to change very quickly - thats why you need to keep varying your workouts to continually make progress.

3.what are supersets?

Where you complete 1-2 set of a different exercise for the same bodypart straight after completing your first exercise. EG; you may do 4 sets of bench press then immediately do 2 'supersets' of dumbell flys.

4.when people say about going to failure,is it best to go to failure in every set or just the last set u do?

Same answer as question 2. Do it sometimes for variety, but you'll prob find going to failure very demanding so I wouldnt advise this for long periods. It is NOT necessary to go to failure to make progresss - stimulate NOT anihalate the muscle.

5.when benchpressing, should i use a wide grip or narrow grip or an even number of each sets?

Again, same as question 2, keep changing every few weeks.

6.is it ok to eat protein just before u go to bed or does it get wasted if u do?

YES! .. it's vital as your body needs protein at this time to repair itself.

7.should i do deadlifts on my hamstring day or the day i do my back?

Same as question 2.

thanks in advance guys:confused:

Hope that helps!

robin_3_16 is on a distinguished road
definately eat protein before bed its the best time to eat,
if you eat fat within 4 hours before you sleep the amount of fat is multiplid by 2, i believe this is the same with protein and carbs, because your body is totally at rest it gets the full use out of the protein fat and carbs
i always take a protein shake last thing before i go to bed
