Post your diet and your routine and the guys can give you some more detailed advice. BTW (by the way) Welcome to the board. Jock |

![]() | Lee - if you feel you want supplements right away, start with Creatine. This is a natural substance that is in your body already and you will get some in your normal diet, but a supplement will help. Without getting technical (but i will if you want), it helps energy production in your muscles so that you can train harder. It doesn't build muscle, it just helps you work harder so that they build more quickly. I have seen comments that it only has a placebo effect, but I do 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off and when I come off (into third week of 'off' cycle right now), I pretty soon notice the difference. As it takes a week to 'load' when you start taking it, I don't really notice much deifference when I start as the buildup is gradual. The other thing you could try is Glutamine. I take this, but again it is a gradual thing and I don't really know if it does any good, but it certainly won't hurt! Probably the most important thing you need to do though is get your diet right - and you will not be short of advice on that here! Good luck with your training. This is a good place to ask for help, you will get plenty of it and encouragement. |

| Getting HUGE! | hellfish20 IMO (In My Opinion) I would look at the basics to start. Best would be to use an entire system consisting of diet, training and other as a complete, Parrillo is one that is good to start with >see http://www.parrillo.com/ Most new guy start to fast or too hard and either end up injured or burned out. Many others start out guessing and their entire life that is what they do. Try to do something as a whole to start, then you can adjust it from there. As far as supplements, food as in your diet is the biggest key at first. But I guess from what you are saying you want a pick me up pre workout eh? Try a cup of coffee. Yeah I'm serious. It works. Welcome to the site. OK Give us a ton of more info about you and we all will help how we can (or at least confuse you with different answers LOL) cheers |

| UK-M's Mascot | welcome hellfish As well as the workout, its important to plan your diet. It depends what you want to achieve. I am guessing that you want to loose weight and get into better shape by the sound of your first post. There's no rules as to how much you should train each body part, as long as you allow for each group of muscles to recover, i'd say try to train each part once a week. As for supplements, whey protein, flax seed (or fish oils) and creatine would be on the top of my list, but again, a good diet is the best 'supplement' |
