training with knee injury.

Hi, I'm new to the board. I've been training seriously for about 3 months and I've seen some great gains. But I've got an old knee injury from a motorbike accident 8 years ago and I think I'm going to have to stop doing squats. As I've been using heavier weights its really starting to give me problems, even though I can lift the weight ok the next day my knee is in agony. So does anyone know how I can gain mass in my legs without squats?
