slimming down.....bulking up....slimming down..........

Ok am sure this is stupid but i've realised that i can't just put muscle on and lose the fat in certain areas, its either do one thing or the other basically.
I've been hitting the weights for over a year now but ate a lot of crap and yes i did gain a bit of muscle i also gained quite a bit fat.
So now i know that while i'm slimming down i wont be getting much gains in the muscle department but i am starting to look better physically. I read online somewhere that the best thing to do is to bulk up and pack on as much muscle as you can around the winter time and then trim up around the spring/ summer time, what do you think about this method?

Its old school, but works........however i personally think you CAN find that equillibrium where by you put on muscle without gaining a crap load of fat, you just need to find what calorific level that is.

Sounds like a good method if you want a nice body for the summer, which most people do. So probably easier to do it that way psychologically, plus appetite usually decreases in hot weather so easier to eat more in winter.

Only thing is i just need to lose the fat first, its mostly just around the lower belly so once i've trimmed up i can start again with the muscle building

Get basic and get your results, a few years of heavy eating and i mean good food 4-5 times per day with maybe a shake on top of that. Get stronger every work out, watch the scale slowly go up. When the time comes that you have a good amount of muscle and you have held it for several months sloooooooowly diet down.

Mate eating **** is the easiest thing to do. However **** food will not give you any gains. Now calorie dense cheat foods if you will like the odd pizza or fatty steak with fries this will help add muscle but besides for the very rare occassion drop the really rubbish food on the head...........

Personally I cudnt just bulk up to get fat, stay fat for half the year then trim down to look good just for summer.. You'd be better off just clean/lean bulking.. Do a carb cycle or som shizzle
