I find eating a small meal about 30-60 mins before training works fine for me, and I train first thing in the morning, as this is most convenient. Other people like to train evening. It makes no difference - just do what's best for you. |

Not that this makes any real significance but like big said. Down to personal preference when you think you can lift your best. You shouldnt train to late as it might interfere with your sleeping patterns although i dont really think thats possible as most gyms shut at 9-10. I always try to train before noon, but thats just me. |

As for postworkout meal. You should aim for some high glycemic index carbs and some protein. Yes it would be good to have a shake now in my opinion. I don't really feel like a big cooked meal after training. Mash might be ok though because that has a high GI rating. ...don't get me started on these GI ratings they do me skull in![]() | |
