I have only been doing this for 6 months, the results so far are pretty positive - my girlfriend keeps telling me that i have great body, (it wasn't before!) but really I think that all I have acheived so far is a good start with a long way to go. I won't be embarrassed on the beach this summer, but I want more than that.

Obsessive? Yes, but what's wrong with that?

Mate as I said, if your gaining with that, keep going. However overtraining may not speed up results, depends on your genetics really. If you train a muscle too much the fatigued muscle is too "damaged" to repair the muscle in time resulting in muscle LOSS rather than gain, so overtraining can basically leave you smaller or gain-less. I am sure you know how it works and I am probably saying stuff you already know, and as I said - If your gaining from it don't stop.

You are really bright, welcome to the board mate I am sure you will be able to help heaps of blokes on here ;)

Like the guys said, drop the weight and do some reps.
Use good form (technique).
I would heal up first before trying anymore heavy weights.

Great posts from the guys above.
How old am I?

Put it like this, God was only one year above me at school.

If you are as old as you feel, about 107. (late night last night in Ipswich, rest day today so no working it off at the gym and realised when I got into work this morning that i was still p*ssed)

If you are as old as the woman you feel - I am quite youthful.

But if you are as old as you behave, then I am about 5.

Uh, I worked out for myself to drop the weight while I heal . At the moment, my left arm is painful enough when I grip anything, that I am a bit restricted on what I can do anyway. More ultrasound tonight!

SportDr - that sounds like really good advice, I'll mention it to my PT thursday.

So how old are you?

This sounds like overtraining and bad form / going to heavy to me. Its all been covered above..

Drop the weights slightly for a few weeks, take more rest days in between workouts (Its during the time your out of the gym your growing) and things should get better.

Personally I am always injured aswell, but I play rugby. Never once got injured in the gym though, and I do lift heavy, almost to my max 3 times a week

HTH

Well the older you are the better chance of injury.

I dont know if this is the case but you did not state your age, or even gender for that matter.

I'm not in the first flush of youth. That's why I alluded to my age when I started the thread.

Gender XY. I can produce witnesses who can testify to this.
