ibs

I have a friend whos just been dropped in the shi* by his bird and has asked if i would mind if he started training along side me, He is like a lat not an ounce of fat or muscle mass on him and he blames it on his IBS ( irritable bowel sindrome ) im just playing with the thought but would this "condition" affect his abillity to build muscle for reasons such as his body not absorbing what it needs from food before it disapears down the thrown? ? ?
any thoughts would be much appreciated

Unlikely, is the short answer, however it depends on the severity of the condition (the more severe then there is an increasing possibility), and also if there are any accompanying conditions (crohns etc).
