Re: please help, having trouble toning lower abbs

hey thanks for replying to my post, well to be honest i dont have a strict diet but i do generally eat healthy.
every morning my dog drags me out of bed for a short walk b4 brekkie, then brekkie is usually yogurt and musli b4 i go for a jog or if im not jogging till night time i have roll n bacon! lunch is usualy fruit and sushi or a salad and cold meat sandwich, and dinner is meat / fish and salad! as i sayed i dont have a actualy diet plan, if im having a busy day i dont really care bout what carbs i eat, if im not doing much i stick to salads and fruit and lean meat, dont ever eat much junk or fizzy n sugary stuff!
???? what u think?

Re: please help, having trouble toning lower abbs

As already stated, it will mostly be diet and cardio.

I do find leg and knee raises are great for building/toning the lower abs. You can do this laying on your back or upright on a dip machine.

Re: please help, having trouble toning lower abbs

thanks, i hve been doing leg n knee raises, but have been doing more situps than anything, think its about time i equaled out what am doing, abb wise. its just been annoying seeing my top abbs tone up so well and quickly and my bottom ones still looking crap and with a layer of chubb over them !

Re: please help, having trouble toning lower abbs

Your own words are the clue - the fact that your upper arms still hold flubber shows that you still have body fat in some areas. Could well be this that is holding back your lower abs.

Also the words don't care what carbs I eat on a busy day. Carbs + liquids usually means abs bloat - even on the lower abs (which is where it shows on me as well)

If you feel you do need to lose bodyfat to make these areas show more definition, then try six meals a day, high protein, good fats and only complex carbs ie fibrous veg, rice, sweet potatoes etc in limited amounts. Drink loads of water and you will soon see the flab going.

If you want to see how I train and eat go to Members photos section and read, 52, fit and proud of it. Good luck!

By the way, most people on here shrink back at the word tone. What you see if you are looking bulky is a mixture of muscle and bodyfat. If you build that muscle and lose body fat you will look slimmer, much slimmer, but the muscle will be more defined. Building good quality muscle actually helps you shed more bodyfat. There is no way you will become huge no matter what weights you shift in the gym - unless of course you are on steroids and have lots of natural male hormones in your body. Don't believe the hype!

I agree with the above. If there is a later of fat over the abs, they will never be well defined. Its got to go. Cardio and less carbs, let that be your motto.

Re: please help, having trouble toning lower abbs

BRILL, thanks for the advice, so basically i need to work harder lay off the cabs and generally pay more attention to what i eat !? this is the first time ive used this site and its great, so much better actually geting feedback and advice from ppl rather than googleing stuff n searching tru all sorts of crap for advice n tips etc
the whole fitness n exercise things new to me as from this year,
stoped smokig as a new year resolution and took it from there,
and theres a pole on the bar where i work, which well has led to me learning to pole dance and well pushed me to generally improve my appearance and fitness its such a confdence booster and great exercise, but you need to bee fit and strong to actually be able to do it.what a difference already, but now its time for the hard work, n time to really push myself i see!?
