Re: please help, having trouble toning lower abbs

theres no such thing as "toning" your abs, legs etc. You cant "tone" a muscle. What you think is a "toned muscle" is a completely regular muscle same as anyone elses, its just got less fat between it and your skin and so you can see its shape more.

Dont try and tone your muscles, its just a case of losing bodyfat.

But you can condition the muscle through training it, which will help.
When I train delts especially hard, they will show more. Despite no change in body fat.

Re: please help, having trouble toning lower abbs

that just means they are swelling and so bulge out more. Its basically like someone hiding under a duvet on a bed. Your muscle is the person under the bed. The thickness of the duvet is the fat. The only way your are getting definaition is by reducing the thickness of the duvet ( lowering the ammount of fat ). Its a definate pet hate of mine when people talk about toning a muscle. No such thing!

Re: please help, having trouble toning lower abbs

thers no such thing as "toned" and body fat has nothing to do with being skinny or not.

Any body builder on a stage will be extremely low bodyfat percentage but would you call them skinny ? They are probably the same percentage body fat as a marathon runner. 2 totally different physiques with the same bodyfat.

Also no one has called you fat. Im trying to educate you that magazines and such that show you how to "tone up" are full of ****! you cannot tone your body, you can change the ammount of muscle or the ammount of fat.

Re: please help, having trouble toning lower abbs

As said in most posts above, diet and cardio are what you need, also a decent weights program usings core compound lifts, this will make sure when your body fat lowers you have some muscle underneath to show off.

You seem to be doing ok as you are, its just gonna take time young lass

Re: please help, having trouble toning lower abbs

If you use compound exercises you will become stronger on most of your body. You will be able to perform better on the pole dancing because you will have better upper body strength and stronger legs with a better grip. The muscle will develop more as you use it during these exercises.

Lower body fat levels will just make it show more clearly.

Loved the comparison with the person under the duvet - that explains it so well > reckon I have gone from a 20 tog winter quilt to a summer coverlet in the past six months and will soon be a thin cotton sheet on my cutting diet . LOL!

Re: please help, having trouble toning lower abbs

LOL you wont get huge! You will get toned tho, look at the classes in your gym, things like body pump will all use compound work, think of it as a way of getting maximum effect from minimum time in the gym.

Also dieting does not mean an end to good food, there are plenty of low fat good for you things to cook!

I think you have a few common misconception's of this game

Call it what you want but what I was explaining that having a goal of toning your muscle is a waste of time because you cant do it. If you want to look "toned" then lose some bodyfat.

To lose body fat = use more calroies per day than you consume (simple version)

This doesnt mean dont eat carbs, dont eat fats, dont eat red meat, dont eat after 6pm or any of that rubbish. Its means understand exactly what you are eating and what it contains ( how many calories, fats, carbs and protein ) Aim to eat a balance. read up on types of fats and carbs and how the effect your body. Work out your calories intake and document it. Work out how many you need to maintain body fat and lose bodyfat. Keep your metabolism working by eating 6 small meals throughout the day.

OR

Go do your latest fad "toning soup diet" out of OK magazine or the Atkins low GI cress and water diet which I would put money on 90% of people fail on because its unsustainable ammount of bland food, limited choices so real life gets in the way or is just complete BOLLOX and has no chance of losing bodyfat or even if it does statrve the body so much that when you finally do eat some real food every calorie is stored as fat for the next month because your body wont know wheres its next good meal is coming from.

Rant over .... yes

dont know how you lot do sex up in glasgow but if thats as close as u can get you have snags lol

and people are right 'toning' is a misnomer it does not exist..... what people think of as toning is just increasing muscle size and/or reducing fat

and you can't spot reduce fat i believe, i.e. you say you have arm flubber, which i dont believe you do anyway ... the answer is to lose fat throughout the body
