Effectiveness of X trainers

I love the X trainer as part of my CV especially as it minimises the stress on my injury prone and weaker knee. I was reading that it really isnt a good CV exercise and that its gentle activity... I can work up a sweat if i put the levels up so I'm boggled.

Does anyone else use the X trainer as part of CV?

If you can imagine it, you can achieve it; if you can dream it, you can become it.

As long as you get your heart rate in the right zone anything works. X-trainer and bike are my favs for post workout cardio
