![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: When to have PWO drink Have you pwo shake after your cardio. I read an article on this on Muscular Development by Dave Pulumbo. I will see if i can dig it out. I think the theory behind it was if you have your pwo shake before cardio the nutrients on the shake will then be used for energy for the cardio and therefore will not be used by your muscles for repair. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: When to have PWO drink Personally i dont buy into the PWO shake. If you are eating 6 plus meals a day which includes varied sources of proteins, carbs etc then your body already has a large abundance of nutrients anyway. Its not like the 4 chicken breasts you had throughout the day before the gym are now fully digested, out your system, and your body is running on empty. I think people have this idea that its almost popeye like with the PWO shake. straight from the mouth to the muscles. Im not saying I dont take a pwo shake but I dont really worry about the "15 minute state of heightened protein synthesis" or "golden hour" PWO. Doesnt really matter what you are taking, apart from maybe WMS, its not getting in your system intime. Personally I have a decent meal hour ( or sometimes less ) before workout as I like to have a belly full of food when lifting. After workout Ill have a whey protein shake. Si IMO take it whenever you want aslong as it doesnt effect your training in a negative way. Personally wouldnt fancy cardio after necking a pwo shake. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: When to have PWO drink I had a quick look but could not find it. I think it was on MDTV in "in the trenches" section. He was talking to a bodybuilder about doing cardio after training and when the best time to have his pwo shake is. Is there any threads/stickies on this subject on this forum? |
