![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Miss training session or go 3 days consecutive ? Hi all A big problem I find when training is keeping my routine. Its easy enough to say Im going to the gym monday wednesday and friday but apart from the pro or poor bastards that dont have much a social life, real life can often get in the way. Example is my routine this week. Thursday Im traveling back up north for a long weekend with the mrs to see the family. My usual routine is monday wednesday firday. Theres no chance at all of me getting training in thursday friday saturday or sunday. I may be going for a 10k run on sunday but nothing definate and I dont class this as training really, more just bit of fat loss and cardio. Anyway ... So my options are, Legs day today, Push tuesday, pull wednesday. Full body workout Monday and wednesday Upper lower split monday and wednesday. Push day monday pull day wednesday and class the run as a leg day. Any advice much apprechiated, Im not worrying about it really but thought it must be something everyone deals with and what do you do. Overtrain for a few days or accept the loss and welcome the extra days recovery. Thanks guys Will |

I think I've been overtraining - to give an example, I hadn't been for about 10 days prior to yesterday for various reasons. I proceeded to do more reps on my bench press than I had done for about 2 months previously. The central nervous system takes a battering from intense weight training, probably more than we realise, I'm beginning to think. This is obviously moreso the case for natural trainers such as myself as we have far less recovery powers than people who juice. |
