bit of advice

hi new here so need some advice if yas can help...

story goes as this played rugby for lot of years and was fairly fit but new job last year caused me to have no time for it so iv not done any kind of exercise for a long time therefore put alot of weight on im 19 ,6ft5 and just under 18 stone...

what i want to know is ... iv signed up to strt the gym tomorrow and want to know how to go about it... im wanting to obviously lose weight but as im a big bloke already i dont want to get smaller if you know what i mean so im wonderin if this regime wud work

if i do weights 3 times a week i.e mon/wed/fri and on the days off do cardio would i build muscle and lose weight or would i have to lose weight first before i did any weights???

if yas could help me out cheerz;)

Re: bit of advice

Gaining or losing weight is alot mroe to do with diet than training mate. Obviously training is important but without a correct diet to meet your goals you are kind of ****ing in teh wind.

Re: bit of advice

I started of at 6 foot 3 and 24 and half stone, with a good diet and high protein I got to down 18 and half (ok I did a bulk and am now 19 and half ) but I would say at 18 and half I had gained a lot of muscle compaired to what I had and shed a load of what so it is possible.
