![]() | Starting from scratch- advice and tips wanted please Guys i'm looking at getting into shape for various reasons, one main one is that i'm getting married next year (possibly year after) and want to basically look good on the honeymoon for the future misus. I'll be honest i was looking at jumping straight onto gear and i think pretty much rushing things. So i'd like to know how you would suggest going about getting to my goals. I dont want the shredded or ripped look i want the fuller look if that makes sense? At the momment the only training i do is Rugby training with some free-weights at home too. I was thinking that as i'm carrying alot of body fat at the momment i need to go on a cutting cycle, then the bulking before i go for addming the muscle right? So any advice on training for cutting and also a nice simple diet would be very much appreciated. Cheers |

![]() | Re: Starting from scratch- advice and tips wanted please Thats what i meant with regards to the gear i'll put that on the backburner now and work my backside of and do things properly rather than start doing gear when i'm nowhere near ready. I'll have a look now and put up the diet i'll be looking at doing. Cheers Sam |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Starting from scratch- advice and tips wanted please Alot of it is common sence mate, dont buy into the supplements or "fat burners" out there. Theres no need for them, eat right and train hard. If you posted your typical or proposed diet and weekly routine we can help you abit more. |

![]() | Re: Starting from scratch- advice and tips wanted please Right this is pretty basic but i've had a quick look at a couple of threads and thought this is something i could easily keep to, I'm not looking at entering competitions at all i just want to lose some body fat first and go from there hopefully ending up with me adding some good muscle size at the end but firstly i'm concerrntrating on cutting down my body fat. Meal 1- Oats with dried fruit and nuts with natural yoghurt or milk???? or 2 Whole Eggs 1 slice of Whole meal toast and a piece of fruit Meal 2- Chicken Breast and Salad or Turkey fillet and Veg Meal 3- Tuna and Pasta or Salad or Chicken and Salad or Pasta Meal 4- Beans and Toast Pre-Workout or Some fruit Meal 5- Salmon and Veg or Chicken and Veg or Steak and Jacket Potato Guys any advice on that diet i'd appreciate. At the momment training wise i was going to do heaps of Cardio, Swimming and Cycling, The only 'strentgh' training i do at the momment is press-ups where i do: 3x20 -Incline with 30 seconds rest 3x20 -Decline with 30 seconds rest 30x20- Normal with 30 seconds rest- after each third set i havea minutes rest I've got free-weights at home which i want to start using also. Cheers Sam |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Starting from scratch- advice and tips wanted please Ok, Not a great diet really considering your goals. You arent going to gain much muslce with that. If you are after losing weight then Its ok but still not great. Routine wise cardio is good for losing weight but no that good for gettinga good looking body. And your weights routine I wouldnt even call that a routine so not worth comenting on. Look at a sprinter and a marathon runner. They both run for a living but iun totally different ways and therefore look completely different. Heavy weights and HIIT training are much more calorie intensive but have the added bonus of promoting muscle growth. To be honest I think you should continue with your reading up on the subject. In my opinion knowledge at the beginning is far more benificial to you achieving your goals than anything else. |

![]() | Re: Starting from scratch- advice and tips wanted please See i was looking at losing some body fat not neciserily weight. I'll look into things more and see what i come up with then. Rather than just saying 'its ok but still not great' Couldnt you try and be a little more constructive? 'And your weights routine I wouldnt even call that a routine so not worth comenting on' Again far from useful or constructive. Thanks Anyway |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Starting from scratch- advice and tips wanted please http://www.uk-muscle.co.uk/getting-s...beginners.html read all the stickies in this forum, then again in the diet forums, LOADS of great info in here and will give you an insight into what you should be doing. I wasnt trying to sound condsending so sorry if it came across like that. My point was just that you will get much better results at the moment by putting in the time on the theory and facts about weight loss, body building, diet and such. Its always a real shame when someone is eager as f00k and oputting in all this effort put its going in teh wrong direction and ends with litle or no results. Figure out what you need to do before you start doing it. Thats not to say dont go to the gym or eat healthier but accept that what you are doing now probably wont be what you are doing in a week or months time as you will hopefully read up and learn on better ways to achieve your goals. Hope this is more helpful ! |
