![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | to the bodybuilders on here with squatting why do bodybuilders not squat below parallel, i heard its due to more glute development which I would understand but some bodybuilders train squat deep and their glutes are fine (due to genetics) which bodybuilders here believe in deep squatting ? |

| Mutant | Re: to the bodybuilders on here with squatting well, if you think your hams and glutes need more stimulation (or just want big, nice round a$$) than they get from deads (and sldl?), by all means squat atg deep... my personal combo is: on back day all-out max effort on low rep deads on leg day med rep parallel squat (or high rep near parallel, but since i dont want my legs to grow atm, cant really say which works better, i had good results with low-med rep parallel tho) + low rep sldl |

| Mutant | Re: to the bodybuilders on here with squatting nope, thats term confusion, parallel != 90deg knee flexion, depending on stance width its 110 to 140deg flexion another point, if you let your ass touch yer ankles/calves it will momentary deload knee tendons, leaving it unstable (and vulnerable) |

Talking of cocks in squat racks....quite a nice feeling not to have to put up with the bicep boys at the local gym after training at home for a while |

Some, in fact most of the strongest squatters in Britain/world squat ass to grass. I've trained with Dai (Porky Pie) who is one of the country's most respectable lifters and he certainly doesn't go parellel. Ass to grass for him and the guys squatting 340kg plus. | |
