Re: Working up or working down

Starting off very heavy is a risk as your tendons and muscles might not be warmed up adequately. Play it safe and scale up.

To bigger a risk of injury I think has to be the first consideration although once warm you can do drop sets, dropping the weight and increasing the reps.

Re: Working up or working down

Both sides of the debate can be argued and much will depend on what your training for, your ability to undesratnd your body and the load of a training plan.

Reverse pyramiding has its place yet there are issues with the CNS and going to failure early on. There is also the point about buidling up blood flow

end of the day, you can deabted either side from physiology to pscyhology but no one way to do things
