![]() ![]() | Tri's I know a lot of people do tri's with chest but does anyone do them on a different day than chest, I cant lift as much when I've done them with chest. Last edited by lambert; 22-07-2008 at 05:47 PM. Reason: spelling |

![]() | Re: Tri's the reason you cant do as much is because your tri's play a part in your chest training so they are already exhausted. personally i have a seperate day for arms, so a bi's and tri's day ![]() if you dont want to do that then you can do, shoulders and tri's or back and tri's. theres so many options ![]() Ben |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Tri's I do them on a wednesday with hamstrings and calves, i honestly feel the reason why my arms got so big and strong was because i trained tri's and bi's an seperate days from my other upper body workouts. |

I like to keep chest, shoulders and triceps all on different days, with atleast one day in between. After chest on Monday, they fully recuperate before I use them again on Wednesday. Both times, they're only used as secondary muscles, so they're not being hit that hard, or I don't feel they are. Hence I give 'em a good blast on Friday and let them recuperate over the weekend. I hit them with a tri-set. Seems apt hitting triceps with a tri-set... Skull-crusher/Close Grip Bench/Underhand Pushdown. In a vain sense, it's also a great sleeve-filler if you're due out that Friday night ;) I'm told that's an odd way to do it, but I'm an odd guy and odd stuff works for me. However, in response to your opriginal reason for starting this thread, triceps after chest is very hard. I wouldn't do it, personally. Last edited by Inggasson; 22-07-2008 at 06:03 PM.

i've trained my triceps with my chest for about 16 years now and they are one of my strongest bodyparts developement wise, particularly in recent years as i have really gotten to grasp with mind muscle connections more. might i just add that (given each individuals given genetics) you are at risk of overtraining your triceps if you train them along with your biceps on an arm day of their own, think about it,that means they would have had two indirect training sessions via chest and delts and then you are focusing on them on their own day.

I don't seem to be prgressing when i work them with chest, I'm lifting the same weight each week as my tris just fail if i try more weight. When i train my tris on a seperate day i can lift significantly more and progressing.

![]() | Re: Tri's I agree with weeman on this one. as a bodybuilder all that matters is how much growth you have, and you get this from damaging the muscles and then recovering. by splitting chest and tris you will be hitting them hard a couple of times a week. seperate these two and shoulders and they are all getting hit a lot in one week. probably overtraining. if you are a powerlifter then there could be very good reasons to split them. as this is when the poundages really matter. |

I do my workouts in the following order so that sore muscles from the day before do not stop me lifting heavy mon-abs/biceps/triceps/inner and outer legs tue-abs/chest/legs extensions, hamstring curls wed-abs/back/ Hip machine reverse kick, squats and lunges thur-abs/shoulders/leg press, calfs Friday weights for any bodypart that needs extra work and kickboxing |
