High Lats?

just got back from the gym

a mate of mine told me i had high lats and he also suffers with it

im curious is this genetic or is there some specific technique to hit the lower part of the lats?

because my front lateral spread at the moment is pants, back is ok but my arms shadow them from the front

Re: High Lats?

I got high lats too mate. Not much you can really do about it. It annoys the crap outta me sometimes when i see guys with lats that start from the hip. (lucky firkers) lol But its the way we are and our genetic makeup.

Just keep varying your back workouts mate and make them the best you can.

Re: High Lats?

Genetic mate, bugger all you can do except work with what you got - and an exercise useful for bringing out the lower lats (wherever they may be on you) is under-hand barbell rows.

Just vary your grip around so there is less stress on the biceps

If thats you in the avatar i suggest you just keep pounding away at the weights and the food and not worry about little things like high lats. Dont stress over minor details until your holding a lot of size.

Not even on the case of low lats just great back in general i find you cant beat deadlifts followed by chin ups doing every rep slow and controlled especially the negative must be done very slowly.
