not toay no. oly lifting has no eccentric phase, so you don't get very sore, if at all. that said, i did it after squatting upto a 1RM, so yes, i wass sore the day after.it was a while back (7+ days).

try it mate.

I have never done them before so I think I will not do the 40+ rep thing:p. I will try them for sure. I did do some deadlifts after a two week break (4th time doing them) and I did bicepts right after and was up for bicepts. Thanks James. I will try the cleans though.

You should do the thing popular on the...Ironworks board I think...

Take a decent weight (5/6/7 rep max or something) and do 50 reps in 20 minutes. Sets and reps up to you, just do as many as you can.

I'm thining of trying this with clean and push press myself..

Golden if you have not done these they will do you in.
But it is only 50 reps and I guess as much time for recoup is necessary.

I need doing in, I've been letting myself slip lately. This might give me enough of a shock to start training properly again!

I was wondering if there was some modified version where you don't have to drop the weight but instead kind of do the move in reverse on the way down (controlled).

Obviously this would limit the amount of weight you could use but I think it would still be a very good compound exercise working legs, midsection, arms and shoulders as well as a bit of cardio as a lot of movement is involved.

Kind of like a deadlift that moves into a standing overhead press.

The deadlift part wouldn't be too hard as the weight would be limited to what you can do with your upper body.

Any thoughts / flames?

-zoidberg-
Yeah my old college tutor explained the technique like this

Deadlift
Calf Raise
Upright row

(though that was only to do the clean portion and not the press)

I think the next part involves Push press, using your legs to drive and its meant to be an all in one motion i think? sorry i cant be more help bro, and seriously the best way to get the technique down is to have someone experienced show you, and dont move up the weights till you got the technique 100%

Absolutly.
Bar speed to get it to your neck.
This lift (due to the bar speed) can increase your dead lifts.
Its a great overall exercise and good for stamina too.
