Advice much appreciated (noob ;) )

Hi, I've been reading through alot of things here...possibly a little to much and now why I'm needing to post for advice. As there are alot of different opinions around.

I've read the tips for beginners, this was probably the most useful.

I've been in and out of the gym for a couple of months at a few different ages. More just to keep in shape.
I'm 75kg's and just turned 20 years old. I'd definetly say I'm atheltic, and potentially can build quite well.

GOALS, get bigger and reduce my fat %. e.g. Mens Health cover model. (not that i'm a big fan).
(p.s. Dont worry I won't use the word "toned" lol).

Am close to getting good Abs, but just not quite there...A small amount of fat there..well when I pinch anyway.
>>>A few good hours of Cardio a week to sort out the fat %? (+eating right of course).

###The advice is want is so I dont start again and find out in 1 month that i've wasted all that time.

Main questions really:

>>>Am I right in thinking a 5 day split is the best way to go???
Mon-Legs.
Tue-Chest.
Wed-Back.
Thurs-Shoulders.
Fri-Arms.

My eating is pretty decent. (at least I think so anyway).
Breakfast - Cereal, prob fibre based with fruit or something like that.
Lunch- Salad with protein i.e. chicken, tuna etc.
Dinner- Example: Steak with Veg Veg Veg.
Snacks- Fruit, Nuts etc.
I eat fairly low carb, but get them in properly maybe twice a week, depends.
......I'm not really in a position where I can go for the full 6 meals a day deal.
>>>Will this be alright? Even if not optimum.

Also, I'm going to get a supplment. I am actually prob going to go for some sort of all in one, or a decent whey protein anyway. Dont worry for all you haters, I wont be going for MM Cyclone lol.
I was thinking of going for Hurricane XS, from http://www.myprotein.co.uk/.
>>>Thoughts on this???
Also, advice on timing of consumption would be nice, preferably something I can take before and after. I guess just after is fine. Again...advice appreciated.
>>>Hurricane seems to just be after?? (And no I dont want it as a meal replacement.)

Right well, thanks for reading.
Comments appreciated.
Thanks again.

This is fine as long as progression is achieved every single work out aka heavier weights being used or new repetions achieved prior to reaching failure.
Personally i would cut it to 4 days and add delts to chest making wednesday a rest day.
Mon-Legs.
Tue-Chest.
Wed-Back.
Thurs-Shoulders.
Fri-Arms.

My eating is pretty decent. (at least I think so anyway).
Breakfast - bowl of oatmeal, scoop of whey powder, 3 whole eggs
Lunch- Salad with protein i.e. chicken, tuna etc. Make sure you are getting at least 8 ounces/225 grams of meat in each salad
Dinner- Example: Steak with Veg Veg Veg. Again make sure its that much meat as previously stated.
Snacks- Fruit, Nuts etc. Fruits are fine earlier in the day as are nuts just keep tabs on how many you consume so if you dont make progress you can pin point why
I eat fairly low carb, but get them in properly maybe twice a week, depends. You do not know what a carb is your diet is primarly carbs.

Much appreciated, thanks for taking the time.
I know everyone has their own opinion, but I think I respect yours quite quickly...you seem to do alot of posting and know what you are talking about. And it does conform with alot of other stuff I've read.
I'm going to order me some Hurricane now anyway.
Thanks again.

Also, I agree about your carbs comment.
I think what I more ment was I now avoid over eating them in the form of pasta, pasta and more pasta. I.e. when I was at uni. Lol.

Re: Advice much appreciated (noob ;) )

wasted money imo. Well not wasted money, thats exadurating but you havent the basics in your diet so why spend over teh odds for powedrs and ****. Its like buying premium petrol for a claped out metro, the basics arent there so why bother with the "extras".

The diet you thought was pretty good isnt at all. If you are after burning fat then you just wanna be burning as many calories as possible. I dont think a shoulder day or an arm day will burn anything close to a decent few sets of heavy squats or deadlifts or release as much GH or test.

also " a few good hours of cardio" be more specific. The more you give the more help people can give.

Not ment to sound like a harsh reply, just my opinion and trying to help

Dont worry about hijacking. I'm happy to hear the answer aswell.

I'd like to point out about the car comment, that it's better than leaving the car with no petrol.

And as for cardio I mean around 30 mins running a day, I mean actual running, not poor jogging.
Then time dependant throw in some cross trainer, well its like a cross trainer, but with options to change the climb angle. If you get me.

Also, that WAS my diet its adapting and improving the more feedback I get and the more I learn.

My "shoulder day or arm day" as you put it....although I will now be doing delts with chest. Isnt for burning calories, its for strength and size.
I am confident off creating a calorie deficit.
However I am looking at throwing in more squats and stuff, as its an excellent exercise.

Re: Advice much appreciated (noob ;) )

Well Cons reccomendations are good advice for the diet. If you can't get into extra meals get a shaker, some milk and oats ( I use oatabix, mix much better) also some whey protein. You have a brilliant mini meal there. Also some flaxseed powder would be good to add for good fats or just get some fish oil or flaxseed oil tablets. Pint of milk, scoop of whey, 3 oatabix and some flaxseed powder and you have between 500 and 800 kals depending on what milk, 40+ grams of protein and good mixes of protein, good fats complex carbs and fibre in the oats and all the other vits and minerals in milk.

Also on a note the hurricane supplemnt does actually look good however Id stand by my statement that you should concentrate on real food first. Theres just so many extras in real food ( vits and mins)that make it so much better for you.
