| It's what you do on the outside that makes you | Bar weights i really didnt want to start a new thread for this but the key words are to popular for a search so im having no luck just curious on the weights of olympic bars such as the EZ bar and the tricep (rectangle) bar im guessing 10kg i know the standard bench bar is 20kg but as ive started using the tricep bar today im unsure of my total lifts also the weight of the smith machine bar im guessing also 20kg i know of course its not going to be a 'real' 20kg as its supported, but i mean thats fine as my current log states my lifts and what machine or free weights im using cheers guys!

| Progressing | Re: Bar weights Standard Tricep bar = 34 " and weighs 7.71107029 kilograms Standard EZ Curl bar = 48 " and weighs 8.16466266 kilograms Edit: As far as the Smith Machine goes, I can't really get a solid answer. Some say 35 lbs, 15 lbs, 20 lbs ... I believe the Smith Machines at my gym are 15 lbs. I didn't bother converting these to kilograms. Last edited by Toregar; 24-06-2008 at 04:03 AM. |

Virgin here only have 12kilo ones and I see people counting them as an olympic (20kilos)...you also get olympus which are 15kilos and slightly shorter than the 7foot olympics |

LOLOLOLOLOLOL Sure you used enough decimal places? ![]() You do have to watch the length of the E-Z curl bars, they do vary in length. I think we have two or three lengths in my gym. | |

| Progressing | Re: Bar weights Haha, I just go to google and go x pounds to kilograms and then copy paste the output; I'm not sure how you guys/gals over there in the UK handle rounding Kilos. Like, 7.8 kilos would be rounded to 8 kilos ? Only reason I ask is because kilo is a bigger number than a pound and as such I didn't know if your rounding 'practices' were a bit stricter; so I just copy paste it all out :P. |

If i had bigger hands i would have got a 3" bar but you need to have masive hands to use that. (that would have worked out around 50kg PMSL what a mans bar!) I beleve thats what apolons orignal axle was when you consider how thick his chalange bar was you can see why so few could lift his kit it was just so hard to grip.
