Re: Six Pack

Lets look at it another way

I want:

A full time job in the city
Do a PhD
Be an elite level athlete
Spend time with the wife and kids
See my mates
Run the local social club

Want to do it all at once.....

Someone might say...well thats a lot to take on

you shout

"but you have a PhD"

Yes that is correct but I did it over 6 years when I didnt have all the other things on the go.

Newbies seem to think its very easy to look very good, its not although its easy to look better than you do and better than many in the UK

Just make realistic goals

one question here, when you do your ab workouts, do you do more reps/sets than other muscles? would that make sense?
I tend to do mine at the end of my session, superset with crunches with bench leg raises 25 reps each for 5 sets or so. Other times i just do the one or the other same reps and sets with a good squeeze. Abs for me are usually 3xweek or so. As a show approaches i switch to a tri set and include hyper extensions.

Must admit when i 1st started abs i done weighted crunches too---ouch!!

Sometimes you come across quite abrupt but you talk a lot of sense!
Whilst on bulk I have a vague outline of my abs but I know with the amount of food I am eating I am never going to see them clearly

Re: Six Pack

6 packs are made in the kitchen though.

With a good diet, there wouldnt be need for cardio or training etc.

Since i have improved my diet i have noticed my 6 pack has come out more due to losing body fat.

To be honest, id have more room to squat and deadlift in our kitchen then on the gym floor now that its been over cramped.

incorrect nathan
six packs are made by calorie deficits and many wont create an evionment where its possible through diet alone, one size doesnt fit all and cardio + (PLUS) diet has a synergistic effect (and more efficiency at oxidising fat) compared to diet alone with the same calorie deficit

Again you are incorrecta bout training as you would have minimal metabolically active tissue to keep you burning fat if you did not train and just dieted

look at hibernation mode people go in when they fast

Re: Six Pack

Good genetics (in terms of fat storage) and low body fat = abs. Naturally you won't be able to bulk and cut. Get jogging my friend.
