1 bicep exercise needed

Now i currently do strength training and have back and biceps together.

I do, in this order

deadlifts
seated pulley row
dumbell row
ex bar bicep curls

Today, i was nakered on the curls, partly because the back exersises took their toll on the biceps and i have a dead/bruised left arm from rugby.

Im just wondering, as im only doing 1 bicep movement which would be the best ?

Alternate Dumbbell Curls
Ez bar curls
Straight bar curls
Preacher curls, barbell or dumbbell

Or, underhand shoulder width pullups

My personal view is that either straight bar curls or the pullups would be best for the biceps. I say the pullups because i would be able to use every last bit of strength in my biceps and i wouldnt really have the chance to bend my back when nakered etc.

What does everybody else recomend ?

Re: 1 bicep exercise needed

Strength training doesnt rerquire bicep isolation

as a result

Or, underhand shoulder width pullups
but realistically they will get a fair bit of stimulation from seated row, single hand row, closer grip work

Re: 1 bicep exercise needed

agree with your own thoughts on it-if you must isolate just do curl straight bar, strict then wee bit swing cheats to totally fininsh them

Re: 1 bicep exercise needed

realistically the load % of 1RM on bicep curls to get the CNS benefits that aids strength training are not going to allow for the isolation exercise to be perfromed correctly.

remember strength training is neural as well as muscular adaptation
