![]() | LOOKING FOR A MENTOR Hi I have been reading the threads and I looking for mentor to help me achieve my goals and to compete. Basically someone who has been there and done it to offer there advice. (although I am sure there are a lot of great guys and girls on here) A bit about me. I am 26, 5f 6. and now 12 st 1lb. My make is Kev and I am from Scotland. I have been training for a couple of years. I was a Pro footballer but injury forced to me cut. I have now taken to bodybuilding and been training hard. I was 10st only 3 months ago. This is when I put a structure to my diet ( before it was all over the place with no gains). I know eat 6 meals every 2-3 hours. Good foods - chicken, tuna, egss, wholemeal bread. I will get some pics soon. I am okay size since i put on 2 stone and train very hard. My aim is to compete at NABBA 09. I have been to a few competitions for experience. I felt it was a good idea to pick a bodybuilder my height and use them as a sort of role model. The 2 I like are Lee Preist (A bit smaller) and Franco Colombo. Every four weeks I am increasing my food intake to gain more mass but I plan to cut up about 12 weeks before NABBA 09. Around December time but I am unsure on how to diet to cut up and if I need to change my training routine etc. I thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and hope that someone can help me achieve my goals. Kev |

![]() | Re: LOOKING FOR A MENTOR Hi Thanks. But I dont really need a trainer as such. I have been training and dieting really well. Its mainly a bit of guidance towards the Nabba 09. Which I will be competiting in. Thanks for the reply. kev |

| aka Jimmy | Re: LOOKING FOR A MENTOR You want to put on another 2 stone in 14-16 weeks??? Mate, solid muslce does not grow that fast, only on the exceptionally genetically gifted...chemically assisted athletes. Id guess at your height then 11-12 stone would be a good weight... You fail to mention your bodyfat though... edit; sorry I see you said bulk til december...still a big target, 2 stone, if your going to compete id try putting weight on cleanly, 2 stone til december, won't be clean.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: LOOKING FOR A MENTOR Firstly I would lay down some realistic goals, secondly read some of the comp prep You can go it alone but and see what works for you and change for the next comp and so on. realisitically I dont think you will find a mentor as such who will be 100% on all of those aspects for free. as bad as that sounds there is a massive amount of work to go into all of the things you state Quote:
people can chip in with ideas but the problem often comes when two people give you two great bits of info yet when you at 1 and 1 together you come up with 11. best to find a seasoned person who will give you the time to get it right. this though may cost, and i say may Quote:

Ok first off to gain 2 stones naturaly thats good muscle your talking years as a natural trainer even with good genetics. Second open feds are federations that are basicly for chemicaly assisted guys/girls why would you take a knife to a gun fight? Theres tested feds that you could do that would be much more realistic to be honest. I would say you need to find a natural trainer, as many things are diffrent to guys that are on the cell tech. Also the same as what others have stated on a forum your going to get a number of good but diffrent answers to many aproaches and its hard to tell whats the good one for you. My advice to you is to find one person you trust and follow what they say. You know the expression about too many cooks.. Its crucual that you re-asses your goals and make some realistic targets. As a natty your looking at at most 2-5lbs of muscle a year. Sure you can put on more but its not going to be lean muscle. Anyway best of luck! | |
