![]() ![]() ![]() | Full body and Push Pull leg hybrid routine, any thoughts ? Hi all Im kind of stuck between what to try next routine wise. Im currently doing a push pull legs, usually monday wednesday friday, but with a busy schedule Im somes a day or 2 behind so I can have a great chest day but then not hit them again for 7-9 days or even if I am on time its still a 7 day gap. Im reading alot about full body routines and how they release more growth hormone and therefore encourage more growth. I also like the idea of working the body as a whole. However I really dont think I could put all the effort into some of the full body routines Ive seen as I like to lift as much as I can with good form and so Im normally shattered after a workout that only involves 3 moves. eg, push day, 3 sets of ten on bench, military and dips. So Ive come up with a kind of alternate push pull legs where on a pull day that means I workout everything BUT the pull muscles. Same with the other 2 days ( push and legs ). I feell I will be working out the whole of my body more often but still leaving big enough gaps for recovery of particular muscles and also being able to give it my all. So my new routine Ive come up with is as follows. all 1 set warm up half weight. 3 sets of between 6-10 Day 1 - No pull day Squats, Military, Legs curls and calf raises. Day 2 - No Leg day Deads bench, Dips, Rows Day 3 - no Push Squats, pull ups, Rows and Calf raises This will either be monday wednesday friday or every other day as my schedule allows. Any thoughts would be much apprechiated. Cheers for readin ! :beer1: |

Think I've told you the full body routine I was doing a couple of months back, but I'll pop it up again. My strength & size (mainly strength) went up a good bit on this routine. Day 1: Squats - 3 x 5 SLDL - 2 X 15 Bench - 4 x 5 OHP - 3 x 5 Close-grip presses - 2 sets to failure Day 2: Deads - 3 x 5 Pulldowns (or chins) 3 x 12 Barbell rows - 4 x 5 Side lats - 2 x 10 Bicep Curls - 2 x 10 It was something like that. I think I may have missed an exercise off somewhere & replaced it with another one

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Full body and Push Pull leg hybrid routine, any thoughts ? goals are mainly to add size, not too bothered about strength really, I guess with size comes strength. Diet wise Im on 6-7 meals a day aiming for around 3500 calories. Cheers Chris, yeah I remember you posting yours, looked more managable than ones I had seen before but still looked a bit like legs and chest and tris on one day and back and bi's on the other. Not that that is a bad thing but for this idea I want to try out Id still only be hitting my back and bi once every 7 days. To be honest I think Im going to try this routine out for a month and see how I find it. If at the end of the month Ive not gained any size then maybe go back to push pull legs which I was gaining on. Its funny that i want to change my routine even though Im gaining from it. Sooo many people have posted similar things, "Im gaining but what to change this or that " and I always reply, why are you changing it when its working. But I guess this is more of a mental thing really, keep things fresh and interesting. |
