| Re: Am I too old No, 40 is just fine dude. In fact, our 2nd most handsome moderator is over 40.
You can make a lot of progress if you work hard. Start off by reading a lot of the stickys on the board about diet and training. Get your diet sorted, and run a sensible training routine 2-3x/week and a bit of cardio and you'll be laughing.

| Re: Am I too old You are never to old to get fitter and healthier. I have just returned to b building at the age of 52. If you want incentive to go to the gym have a real good look at other people of your age and stop it happening to you by going to the gym! Make the gym a social event , not a chore!

| Re: Am I too old Definately not too old. When watched my first show this year i was blown away by what the over 40's and over 50's achieved. I don't mean that in a 'oh thats nice' kind of way either these people had physiques i would be over the moon with at 33 and would have been over the moon with at 20.
Thing is as well where these people looked so fit i couldn't have guessed their age if i tried.
Go for it you have nothing to loose and absolutely everything to gain.
Cheers

| Re: Am I too old Nah not too old.
I'm 40 and been training since new year. I've dropped just over 2 stone but my body shape is changing too.
Only thing I have noticed is that a couple of times when I've overdone it. A slight injury has taken a lot longer to get over than it would have a few years ago.

| Re: Am I too old Thanks for your reply guys it's nice to know i'm not gonna be a dreamer all my life. Had my BF measured and it's 36% I think it's because of all the yo-yoing over the last 15yrs, even when at lowest weight it was still over 30%, always done low cal diets from slimming mags 800-1000cals now I'm gonna do it the right way.
Really wanna compete, but lightweight cat hopefully within the next 2 years, but hell ov a lot o work to be done!!!

| Re: Am I too old Not at all.
Right now I can think of three of the top IFBB pros who are 40+
Dayna Cadeau - 42
Betty Pariso - 54
Yaxina (sp) Cortez has got to be 40 now
All of the following pics are figure/fitness/BBing athletes who range in age from 41-50 years old
Sorry don't know all their names, the lady in the pink bikini is 50, the lady in the one piece with the bling is 41, the lady in fur and the blue one piece is 45, and in the blue bikini, Betty Pariso, 54 from this year's Arnold Classic
