Re: Am I too old

I live in the Uk, Im not so intrested in natural bodybuilding (no offence), but I do enjoy watching the female bodybuilding.

If you did that natural (but then is there realy ever a natural? everyone uses suplements ect you wouldnt find them growing on a tree ect.. maby a better definition is there is a class of fbb that chooses not to use anabolic steroids) then thats great, but for me its not my ideal of fbb. I prefer to see how far the boundaries of human potential can be pushed. Whilst your effort is comendable it dosent hold the same intrest as the assisted competitors.

I hold the same view for male bodybuilding. Nothing against them but I wouldnt pay to see that.

But what Im getting at in relation to this thread is that at age 40 theres not that much chance of someone getting to a standard where they could compete without anabolics. Its nice to give someone prase ect and I do think that your never to old to get fit heathy but competitive bodybuilding is a diffrent thing.

Sure you could be a "happy to be here" type of competitor but why go through all that heart break not to get a callout. even at a natty show without a background in training I dont see how someone at this age could realisticly compete.

But then its always good to be proved wrong in these cases. And Lin I wish you the best of luck.

No I never said that your twisting my words, I said its possible to be fit/healthy at any age. But I think its unrealistic to consider competitive bodybuilding without the use of PEDs.

Sure train with weights, do cardio its good for you and prevents bone waisting conditions common with women in later life.

What Im saying is its one thing to train in a gym, quite another to compete.

Hi I'm not twisting your words, it's the comps I've always dreamed of doing, and if I can't do it without the use of PED's then at least I know now, no point in fooling myself, i'll stick to my martial arts I'm good at that

If your asking for a straight answer to that question then yes I agree with your assesment. I think your be very dissapointed and frustrated if you tried to compete in fbb.

The IFBB right now is still calling for women to look feminine, and there is always a HUGE debate as to whether or not AAS has ruined FBBing.

In the UK on more than one occasion, the UKBFF Brit championship has gone to the smaller and prettier girl.

I think you should stop ****ing on her dreams.

Have you ever competed?

Have you ever picked up a BEEF magazine?

Have you even been to a comp in England?

You come across as completely clueless.

My first coach is one of England's first and foremost IFBB pros, she told me over and over and over again, steroids will not get you anywhere.

Sorry mate, I have seen far too many girls completely change their faces and voices only to compete a season.

Its not so clear cut, during the 90s there was a big push for women to be more muscular as it was judged much like mens bodybuilding so ofcourse it was going to get freaky. You cant turn back the clock once you have gone so far you cannot say "woooah thats way to much." people expect progression no matter what the cost, who will watch someone who looks normal - thats not bodybuilding.

In the UK on more than one occasion, the UKBFF Brit championship has gone to the smaller and prettier girl.

Why should prettyness come into a bodybuilding compition, how can you train to be more pretty? How is that bodybuilding?

I think you should stop ****ing on her dreams.

I apoligise for ****ting on her pipe dream that your feeding her. Perhaps you want her to be humilated on stage infront of people? Or perhaps your going to sell her some expensive suplements/PT plan.

Have you ever competed?

No, how is that relivant to if she can compete in fbb natural? for your information im competeing next year. And what possible qualification does competeing have to do with haveing a opinion on the subject. Plenty of **** people compete.

Have you ever picked up a BEEF magazine?

Its not exactly easy to get hold of is it, no internet orderform, not onsale in my area (infact i havent seen it on sale anywhere...) you have to send a cheque very 80s...

Have you even been to a comp in England?

Why would I pay to sit in a dingy hall surounded by muscle worshiping freaks? none of my friends/family competed so why would I subject myself to that.

You come across as completely clueless.

Perhaps you have forgoten your point it appears your just name calling now. Perhaps you should cook me some food - do somthing usefull.

My first coach is one of England's first and foremost IFBB pros, she told me over and over and over again, steroids will not get you anywhere.

Thats flat out BS and if you beleve that then your totaly nieve.

Sorry mate, I have seen far too many girls completely change their faces and voices only to compete a season.

Sure but at the end of the day it was there choice. I would have thought you would have been more suportive to your fellow fbb. You seem to have a chip on your shoulder about the whole drugs issue.

Re: Am I too old

I can see where you're coming from, but it's a little harsh to trample on someone's dream like that and put them off completely from even trying.

Sure, it would be a massive challenge, but there's no reason why she shouldn't give it a damn good shot, and find out from a BBing trainer if she has the genetics/ability to compete after actually spending some decent time training/dieting like a BBer.

So you have never been to a comp in the UK, you don't really follow the UK BBing scene, you haven't competed.

So what are you basing your advice on then?

Re: Am I too old

This thread has taken a turn for the craptastic.

Lin, if you want to do a show... do a show... for YOU. Not because Wogihao says you can or can't.

Do it because you want to... In all honesty, natural competitors have tons of contests where they are drug tested and have to pass a poly.

Go for it... If it's what YOU want.

Truth be told... The female in the picture he wanted to has a few features that you may not wish to emulate.

If you were in a contest where she was featured, you may not do so well, but I would hazard a guess that if you were to enter a natty show and train hard for it and come in at the best you can... Then you would be happy with your placing either way.

It's just a silly trophy...

Point being... Many people do fine without drugs and are VERY happy with their progress.

Why should i follow the ukbb scene, anyone thats half way decent makes there way to america eventualy and competes in the IFBB.

I mainly read MD/Flex/muscle & fitness through the mid-late 90s (when i was a teen). I watch the show reports ect on the german/japanese/american shows and download the webcasts, when i can get the dvds i watch them also.

If it were easyer to find information on the UK shows then i would follow them but I cant even find the website of the shows I want to enter next year? even tupney hapney regional state shows in the US have there own websites with extensive picutre sections and information where as take for instance the lemmington spa comp dosent even have a website it seems.

how can you follow the UK sceen when the promotion of the comptions is stuck in the 1980s?

Haha... right, because IFBB pros make so much money and find it completely worthwhile.

1/2 way decent?

You mean people like Kamali? Titus? All of these 1/2 way decent people?

I believe you may want to rethink how you view the IFBB... They are nothing special.

When you're the only game in town... you just happen to be the only game that gets played.

Your seriously saying that amatures in the uk are just as good as IFBB pros ? You need to put down the crack pipe.

Nobody is commenting on the various competitiors personal lives thats irelivant to how they look on stage. Titus would have easly won shows in the UK had he competed, he was a good bodybuilder. I guess Tom Prince isnt up to much either, or Nasser el Sonbaty, JP Fux??
