I am trying to get the point across that most 16-17 year olds dont need to worry about bodybuilding diets, supplements or routines

Simple eat well, fairly clean,be active and enjoy life
If you are not seeing your abs, ither up your output or lower the crap and frequency of that crap in your diet

No magic behind it at your age

Re: abdominal results

LS is completely right depending on your body fat of course

upping the protein wont put fat on you, build muscle yes but not fat

Re: abdominal results

If you are training the rest of your body you dont need to train your abs

deads, squats and any freeweight compounds which required stabilising muscles will bnehance balance and core strength

Agree with the above. I have only ever trained compound exercises and I realised a long time ago the best way to see your abs is to lose bodyfat.

You can have massive abs but if you cant see them whats the point?

Not 100% as such

If you are doing freeweight squats, deads, SLDLs and anything which requires core stability when lifting then no direct work is required, in fcat can be detremental

If though you are tw4tting about training the whole body doing leg extension, machine seated chest press and lying ham curls, then no thats not adeuqtae to build a strong core

If you do want to train the midsection directly ensure balance in number of exercises for abs and lower back

Re: abdominal results

I found my abs didn't really get worked through compounds, not in a way that i could feel it or saw any improvement. At the end of my sessions I do crunches, leg raises and a few other random exercises. Its helped develop the size and shape of my abs and now they look better. Of course I do cardio regularly and eat well.
