| relaxing at weekends hey guys i was told, it is utterly useless and no pint training at all, if i was going to have a few beers and a slight bit of junk food on the weekend.
i was told their was no point taking supplements or eating healthy at all, i dont trust the guy 100% but he seemed to know what he was talking about
if this is correct, i can deal with it, if you have to be in it 100% 7 days to get results then it has to be done, i was just wondering if this was the case.
am i defeating all objects of my training if i party now and again on the weekend?
im not trying to train to be a bodybuilder or nothing, yes to improve and get stronger, fitter and healthier |

| Re: relaxing at weekends Total Crap. You will see changes and improvements if your diet was poor and your training routine was poor. The body has to adapt to the strain its put under. If you want to see good gains and in the shortest period of time its best to get a good diet and training routine set up.
Eat healthy monday - friday and have the weekend off, just make sure u get the calories needed.
Train 3times a week with lots of compounds and keep increasing the weight regularly.
U can find alot of info on both diet and a good 3day training split around the forum with ease. |

| Re: relaxing at weekends Yup, rubbish that like. Thing is, if you had to be 100% strict, alot of people would not be able to keep it up. Its the fact that I allow myself the odd beer or choc bar etc that I can stick to it. I have made progress doing just that. I still. eat the odd Indian curry etc. Generally for me, Mon - Fri Im pretty strict and carb cycle. Weekends I relax it somewhat. I know I could be stricter and make progress faster, but for me its about making lifestyle changes that you can stick to.

| Re: relaxing at weekends Agree entirely with the above; it's like anything where there is no let-up, you burn out and end up undoing all the good work you have achieved. Think back to school - didn't you find that a break from the books around exam time actually helped?

| Re: relaxing at weekends I eat cleanly 90 percent of the time, weight train four days a week on a split and do kickboxing one or two nights a week. I don't drink or smoke anyway, but the weekends are mine to do what I like. I like to relax, have fun, visit the beach or dine with friends. I eat whatever I want and relax. Most of the gains in muscle come when you are relaxing and they have time to rebuild. Enjoy your time off.
Most common comment at the weekend? You aren't going to eat all that, are you?

im not trying to train to be a bodybuilder or nothing, yes to improve and get stronger, fitter and healthier | Yea you got to take what littleluke says with a pinch of salt sometimes.
In a way it is true, if your persuing the "pub lad" lifestyle then your not going to see great gains compaired to if you lived like a monk - honestly most people fall somewhere inbetween, moderate drinking and having some junk food isnt going to kill your progress. Its when its taken to excess that its a issue.
I know for myself I eat what I like, but then I like meat, pasta so its good. But I also like pancake stacks, cakes, icecream and liberal amounts of coke (the drink) sometimes I enjoy piging out of KFC, Chei McD double cheese burgers also get a look in sometimes.
