![]() | New to it all, need help! Hi all I'm totally new to working out and I'm totally lost. I've tried reading up on what the best exercises are to do, supplements to take etc etc. Most of what I read is conflicting and I just don't have the know how to figure out what's best. My goal is simple, wider shoulders. I don't want to get ripped or huge I just want some definition on my shoulders arms and upper back. So here's my questions: What kind of exercises should I do? How many reps and sets should I do? For how long? What supplements will help (I'm 6ft 5in and weigh 11 stone bmi = 18.3)? I'd be very greatful for some guidance. Thanks |

![]() | Re: New to it all, need help! Thanks for replying guys. I read the intro and took some bits from it. I've been doing pushups for a LONG time purely just for fitness so thought it was time to actually put some real muscle on. I'm underweight according to the bmi and all my life I've never put any weight on and can literally eat anything and any amount without putting on a pound! I'm happy with my lower body as I do a lot of running and play lot's of football. My upper body, although I'm really skinny, is quite cut and defined. My only goal is wider shoulders. For the last week I've been doing this training: EXERCISE SETS REPS Three-part lateral raise 2 8 Front raise 2 10-12 Single-arm diagonal raise 2 10-12 Seated military press 2 10-12 I have to say that I'm feeling the difference already and I can also see a slight difference too. I do this Mon-Thurs then rest Fri, Sat and Sun. Am I doing the right exercises for wider shoulders and is there anything that will improve it? Also am I training too much or too little? Another thing that confuses me is the protein in take. I have Whey Gold Standard and I take this only after I have trained (around 8pm each night). I take one scoop, is this enough for bmi of 18.3? Should I be taking it in the morning also and when I'm not training? Hopefully this can help other people who are super skinny like me as most info I find is aimed more at average to bigger sized people. I'll try and post some results back to say how it's going. Thanks again. |

| Superman | Re: New to it all, need help! Well big shoulders by them self will look stupid as well as the fact that muscles dont just grow independent of others. If you really wish to look good then read up get a basic 3 day per week training system and a correct simple diet. All the info is on this site just look it up. |
