Training for a women help please!

Hello! I am a bit stuck :( My girlfriend wants to start coming down the gym as she wants to tone up. I have spoken to a member on the site who offered some great advice - I do not know if he would like me to put his name here! But he can if he wants!

I am basicaly looking for her to do a 2 day split (from a recomendation) one day being legs and arms and the other being chest/back and shoulders.
She would like to tone up a bit and we have the diet sorted.

So you can get a idea of equipment avail to us at the gym below is what we have.
Free weights, lat pull down, shoulder press, fly machine, Leg press, leg extension, legs pull back thing, like a half bent over row machine, a machine you sit up right and push out.

Just when it comes to weights and routines I am a bit slumped as to what to recomend. Would any one help me with a basic plan please? She has not been down the gym in about 2 years and she only ever did cardio.

So any help please guys! For the rep whores out there, reps for help! :rolleye11

get her to do the diatia training which would include 2 days a week down the gym basically doing a fully body workout

http://www.brothersofiron.com/ theres a guy on there who wrote it m8 and trust me it works for everything, there is also something called diatia which is a diet and also something for supplements aswell

the guys name is chef x a very very intelligent man!

Fun routines focusing on big compound movements etc are the way forward. Take her out of her comfort zones, let her train with you -it's all good.

I get my girl down to the gym whenever I don't have clients in and am on shift so do tons and tons of things with her but the one thing she loves and the main thing I attribute to getting her down to current size 6 is Boxercise.

Women love it, haven't come across a single female that I train that doesn't like Boxercise, and of course it works both aerobic and anaerobix systems

Find out what she enjoys and work on that, train with her and most of all - make it fun, remember most women aren't as motivated as us in the beginning unless they ae gunning for a sport or something themselves.

ah24 totally agree with this as i have the same problem with my mrs in the terms of lack of dedication and also motivation (but hey i guess thats women lol)

I aint actually got her to try boxercise yet though think i might get her to give it a try you never know she might actually enjoy it and want to carry on with it!

Cheers mate,

Boxercise is definitely changing gym work for women, 30mins and their on their back and aching for days

All I'll say is if you are thinking of doing it with her yourself, spend the money to see a Boxercise qualified instructor first to be shown how to correctly punch and move. Too many cowboy PT's have got women doing it without knowing how to execute punches and leave them with broken scaphoid bones.
