Complete Newbie

Hey,

Have alway wanted to get an atheletic build but never really focused on doing anything about it. Well now is the time to try,

I aint looking to become a body builder i am just looking for muscular chest, arms stomach.

Now i have my own bench and weights that i am planning on working on

I am 6Ft tall and 12.3 stone in weight

Can bench around 70kg and curl 30kg at the moment but was once benching 105kg before i stopped a few years back.

Just looking for advice on best routine, How many sets, reps?

Also was going to buy some cheap creatine from holland and barret (body foretress creatine) as i have heard it would give me better results.Would it be worth while?

Cheers
Allan

Re: Complete Newbie

Hi mate, welcome to the board. I suggest you have a read over the stickies in both this section and the training articles section...

http://www.uk-muscle.co.uk/training-articles/

They cover most of the bases and might bring to to some more Q's.

Body Fortress is just cheap creatine like any other - be cheaper buying it in bulk from one of the many online bulk suppliers such as MyProtein.

Regards,
G

Re: Complete Newbie

Also should i be taking protein? As i dont have a set diet so no idea if i am getting enought. Or is it better to wait a few months before beging to take it?

I am looking at doing it right to give me the best improvments overall.

Cheers

Re: Complete Newbie

Id get reading up before you start buying supplements. Im guessing you dont actually know what creatine is or does so no point spending money on it. I know its really tempting to think powders and such are the key but they really arent, they are more the icing on the cake.

Save your money and get reading up on anything and everything to do with bodybuilding. Diet wise just use common sence for now and the more you read the more you will know what to change. Same goes for your routine.

Best of luck
