Program for woman

Anyone got a decent program that works for most woman.

Not to sure if woman woudl train differently to men to get slim and toned?

i think it would be a similar routine to a man n all honesty but thats my laymans opinion obviously they will have to adjust their diet to suit their needs but basics are going to be the same.

the old gym instructer at my old gym was a woman and compeated in shows nd i seen her doing squats deads bench etc etc

just like men a woman wouldnt just end up looking like a bb. i keep trying to tell my girl this but wont listen and tinks shell ed up massive lol

I found in the past no matter what you tell them they always end up doing there own thing ususaly consisting on very light cardio whilst reading a magazine, bit of pec dec, 2.5kg dumbell movements and messing around on the big ball thing.

pscarb has posted a few routines on munchkins thread and flabby abbey's, either way id pm him as hes done a great job with his sister, think he said she dropped 10 dress sizes

Yup... It took me forever to convince Mrs TH&S that she shouldn't be doing Pulldowns to the Back of the Neck... She stopped when she got a bad neck...

Oh and girls don't like increasing the weight each week either cos its 'hard'

TS - Girls should basically train the same way as guys, but just adjusting the weight and allowing for recovery.

I've heard a number of people say they respond better physcologically to using machines as they don't want to be around the blokes dropping Dbs, and its easy to increase the weight on a weekly basis...

Well it's a given these woman will do machines even though I have said free weights will work the best. Not the squatting type unless drunk and a toilet is 2 hours away!!

I was thinking getting them to hit the machines hard for 30 minutes and cardio for 30 minutes after. 10 to 15 reps, rest 30 to 60 seconds in between sets and get them to train the entire body throughout. That diet Paul posted seemed good and will try get them to follow that.

It makes me laugh how you show a woman what works the bum and every single time they there that's all they do!!!! Like fcking moths to a candle!!

Been taking my wife to the gym for about 2 months now, 3 times per week. 30 minutes cardio - 30 minutes good compound strength exercises with BB's and DB's - 30 minutes cardio. Amazing results as she gives it 100%. Certainly not developing any bulk, just developing a really athletic slim look. Took quite some time to convince her that strength traing wouldn't make her big though. She looks so much better than when she was doing 5 aerobics classes per week and thats after just a couple of months.

The main challenge is convincing women that they won't look like body builders if they take up a good strength traing program.

Humans are humans. Women obviously have a harder time losing bf and respond less to weight training (in erm sof hypertrophy anyway) but that doesn't really justify a completely different approach.

Same as ever for fat loss...HARD whole body compound lifts in circuit fashion with little or no rest, 8-15 reps, 3 x / week. Gross and no fun but works wonders.
