overtraining

ive only been doin this for 8 months and i have seen good gains but from reading into trainning methods on sites like this im begining to think ive been doin too much in each session, each traing session would last an hour and a half not including warm up,for example on my back an bis nite my routene would go doin a max of 7 to 8 reps per set

barbell curls 5 sets
bent over rows 5 sets
reverse flys 5 sets
upright rowing 5 sets
site raises 5 sets
barbell curls 5 sets
bent over rows 5 sets
reverse flys 5 sets
upright rowing 5 sets
site raises 5 sets
barbell curls 5 sets

i work from home so i dont have access to a great number of things just a bench and free weights

Re: overtraining

i just looked through other peoples routenes and noticed most people do 5 to 6 diffrent exercises per trainning day e.g

barbell curls 5x5
bent rows 5x5
reverse flys 5x5
up right tows 5x5
side raises 5x5
dead lift 5x5

how can this be enough to get good gains when the biceps are only getting isolated once in this routene and there only doing it once a week
does my muscles not need to be sore the next day or after for it to have worked

Re: overtraining

my biceps get 6 sets max per week mate thats it,bigger bodyparts get around 10 sets on average.... but when training very intense they will get around 6 and 3-4 for small muscle like bicep etc and you dont actually have to be sore the next day to grow

Re: overtraining

training sessions dont have a time limit dude, i spend about 45mins on big body parts and say 15mins each for smaller ones such as arms
