![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Deadlifts i currently do my deadlifts on my legs day. I keep my legs totally straight and lock my knees. I bend down and up without pulling with my arms. Is this deadlift good for the legs or should it be in my back day ? The first few sets, the bar and weights dont touch the floor, by the last set, they do touch the floor and the stretch is revealling, but i also maintain form. Should i put in the type of deadlifts for the back on my pull day and a deadlift that concentrates on hamstrings on the leg day ? |

I think your trying to do stiff-leg deadlifts, although a slight bend in the knee is ok for these. Regular deadlifts for your back should never be done with locked legs - your asking for an injury.

![]() Nathan, as said, what your doing is for the hamstrings....but don't lock-out at the knees as you'll f*ck up your semi-tendinosus tendon Traditional olympic DL's are more of a back exercise though | |

And what is the official name of the deadlift that focuses on hamstrings ? As i will research it to ensure form. |

On the normal deadlift you need to actually bend the knees on the start and then pull up thru the body and lock out. Anyone wanting to get strong or increase back thickness or overall development should include deadlifts, many put size on their arms without doing direct arm work...thats just how good they are IMO.

By adding them on my pull routine which consists of pullups chinups bent over barbell row at 5 x 5 Should i just add it in or should i remove something ? Or even do deadlifts and have BB row as an assistance lift at 3 x 8 etc ? How should i consist this. |

Back Day; Deadlifts; 5 x 5 Chins 3 x failure (then add weight after you can do 10 reps) T-bar rows/barbell rows/dumbell rows x 3 sets of 8-10 Just a very rough dea, Deadlifts do take theri toll, but its more than worth it mate.

I do them on back days, leg days and on shoulder days. i do them on shoulder days as they help develop your traps. normal dead lifts for me are a good all rounder. currently got a P.B of 6 reps of 120kg. had to sit down after cos it felt like i was going to pass out.lol all good fun though.
