![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Football training program. Difference to Rugby Hello guys. I'm looking to maybe get back into football next season. Just wondered if anybody knows a good style of program that I could use in order to get ahead of the opposition. I need some advice on a weights program to suit the game. Ive been doing some research on the net but cannot really find anything that seems good to me. Ive been watching a bit of Rugby League and those guys are big strong fellas and still seem pretty quick to me. What's the difference between football training and rugby training? My technical ability in football is quite good but I figure I could do better if my power and strength were a lot better than the opposition. Any ideas guys? Currently been doing compound exercise type strength program. Squats, deads, bench etc Are these suitable for football training though? |

Preferred position is centre midfield but can play in defence. 14 stone at the moment. 5 foot 11 nearly. I think mainly I'm wondering about lower body training.Although upper body work may affect the central nervous system aswell. How weights will affect the legs, how to do a program around cardio training, sprint work etc? Don't want the two to conteract each other. Don't know where to start to be honest. |
