1st day at the gym

Hi all
Ive been sorting out my diet now for a couple of weeks and am trying to get a good balance, its very hard as a newbie so much to take in and understand.
Anyway now i think ive got my diet in order and being training at home with some weights just to get into the rythem of lifting, Tomorrow im going to start at the gym for a workout (first time at the gym lifting weights( ive been trying to sus the weights out routines etc but its just spinning my mind so im just going to get in there.
Some advive on the sorts of lifts i.e heavy compounds etc which ive read they are the best to start off with are the best, Also how many reps and sets are typical.
Any advice would be very helpfull.

Many thanks.

Re: 1st day at the gym

Good luck in the gym m8 good to see your gonna start lifting. Your gym instructor should help you out a lot when you have your first day there

How many sets and reps depend on what your aiming for, but like mxmad said, good luck and maybe your instructor would give you some advice, and obviously, if your still unsure, just ask or do some research
