newbe lol

hi all , i am dave from essex aged 38 , was very fit years ago (7 years of jujitsu) , 2 years ago i was very ill and have not done much exercise since . about two months ago i started weight training , got some gains already but i need to know if there is a way of finding how much weight i should be useing , how many reps , sets , etc ..
eg.. dumb bell curls at the moment i am doing 6 reps 5 sets at 15 kilo's , should i be doing less reps with more weight ? any help please , many thanks dave........

goals , bigger all over , loose the belly , the only equipment i have at the moment is a basic bench with fly press . i understand that diet plays a big part aswell but i have crohns so i am taking an all in one sup and creatine caps , some foods dont stay in long enough to get thr goodness from them ..

hi bro

have you had any surgery (Stricturoplasty or sbr) or is it managed with the lifestyle and diet changes.

best thing is speak with the doc so he can be sure you are ok.
diet is key to gaining mass. you will need to keep a tab on iron intake too. keep yourself built up.

with a bench and a decent set of weights (barbell and dumbell attachemnts) you can do all the compound movements. these will strengthen you up all over.

if whole foods are an issue best to take in mrps and supps to make up the nuitritional shortfall.

good luck bro. keep motivated and keep us upto date.

short story ! belly pains for years no idea why , so it was put down to wind/bad diet , two years ago real bad pains , fell through the doors at a&e , about 7:30 am , was given morph , doctors spoke to me and other half (i dont remember what they said lol) .. woke up at 3:10 in the afternoon , minus part of my bowel it had perforated , now i take loperamide and pentasa and will be for the rest of my life .. oh what fun ..

hi mate sorry to here about your crons my gf step mam has it , i know how much it effects her and the trouble she has with food but defo speak to your doctor first mate. as people will be scared to give advise that could cause damage. but goodluck mate
