![]() | Need some help Hi Everyone This is my first post in the forum so apologies if it is in the wrong place. I tried to start a new thread but for the life of me could not work out how. Basically I have been tinkering over the last few months with undertaking regular training and using supplements to enhance my progress. I am 6" 2 and just over 16 stone. I am not grossly overweight but could do with some weight redistribution. By this I mean lose the belly and build on the fact that I am fairly broad shouldered. So instead of opting for a weight loss programme I have decided to take the other approach of bulking up using Maximuscle products and focusing on weight training rather than Cardio. I am adopting this approach as I believe that by increasing muscle size should increase my metabolism and burn fat quicker, even at rest. At present I have about 4 tubs of Promax with some Creatamax 8000 which I am using daily. As I progress I have 3 tubs of Promax Extreme which i intend use in conjunction with Cyclone. My training routine at present is very basic consisting of: Low Row (3x12) Chest Incline (3x12) Bench press (3x12) Skull Crushers (3x12) Pulldowns (3x12) Arm curls (3x12) On the next day I focus on the lower body: Leg Press (3x12) Rotary Calf (3x12) Leg Extension (3x12) Leg Curl (3x12) I do a few minutes light cardio before each session to warm up and warm down, as wel as 5/10 minutes of stretches. I am looking to enhance the lower body to include squats and the upper body to include shrugs. My questions are: 1. Is this adequate in my first few weeks of training to see a steady rate of muscle growth? 2. Is is felt that I am using the Maximuscle products in the correct order? Any other advice please? Many Thanks, jabbawoki:lift: |

| Still on the first step - its huge! | Re: Need some help Hey fella. Welcome aboard ![]() Im sure someone will go into great depth. What Ill say though is Id look to start by getting some good solid compound ex in there. Squats, Deadlifts, Military Presses, Dips, pullups etc as well as the Bench Press you state. Maybe wouldnt worry too much about isolation like shrugs (deadlifts would help here for example). If you have the maximuscle stuff now, then use it. Once its done, Id look around. Their product is very well marketted but very poor value for money (something has to pay fo rall that marketting). You could get much more "bang for your buck" so to speak by reading around. Since coming here Ive started using MyProtein. Next Id ask, how often are you training? Is this two days a week or do you do it twice and so four days? |

As for the training I have been doing it four times a week (e.g. 2 = upper body, 2 x lower body) using the basic routine mentioned. i am looking to extend this to five times once I have got on a bit of a roll. When you mention poor value for money (maximuscle) do you mean that you can get other supplements cheaper that do the same thing, rather than the maximuscle supplement are not very good? What attracted you to my protein - Are they a UK Company? cheers jabbawoki |

| Gym Addict | Re: Need some help Yeah I used it in the past before I came across this forum. Its ok I suppose but in my honest opinion yes it was good and it worked well but its too over priced and doesn’t taste as good as the stuff I have got from my protein. Why pay extra when you can get something just as good or even better for a cheaper price. |

Id not heard of My protein until I came on this site and thought Id try them. When I first started using supps I bought maximuscle from my local store. Didnt have an issue with it. Then I found an online site and when looking at the macronutrients realised I could buy other products cheaper. Then coming here I found My protein so thought Id try them. My protein isnt just about them being well priced and a good product. They have a forum and also post on here. They listen to the customers. I just placed my 4th order with them over the weekend. Good stuff ![]()

Instead of getting Cyclone I’ve started to buy Impact Whey Protein.
